My Favorite Back to School Outfit

School has been in session for a few weeks now, and I am sharing one of my favorite back to school outfits. I often go to the library to do my blog posts and get some focus on my content. I usually see a lot of students at the library, and all I have to say is when you are working or studying for long hours, and need to be focused, you want to be comfortable. I am usually dressed my most comfortable when I go to the library (thank you for the relaxed dress code) because I am usually there for eight hours (or more).

When you are a student you will want to dress the most comfortable because you have to walk around campus, walk from class to class, sit for long hours and maybe spend the entire day at school. This also doesn’t include any library time to study and of course commuting if you aren’t living on campus. With all that, comfort has to be essential.

One of my favorite comfortable outfits for back to school is definitely a t-shirt dress. I love this dress because it is under $20, it is so comfortable and stylish. The pinkish maroon color is perfect for the upcoming fall season and is a perfect transitioning dress from summer to fall.

When the temperatures start to drop you can also wear this t-shirt dress with a nice pair of leggings and style with some mules or boots. When you are running around campus, in between classes and studying long hours this is the perfect dress to be comfortable and yet stylish. You will also get a lot of wear because you can wear it on the weekends for errands or brunch.

Are you planning on wearing the t-shirt dress trend this fall? How do you style?

Custo Barcelona Fashion Show

I was so excited to attend the Spring / Summer 2018 Custo Barcelona Fashion Show last week for New York Fashion Week. It was so much fun and the energy was amazing. The pieces were hip, trendy, and lavish street wear trend.

When I went to Spain a few years ago I actually purchased a blazer from Custo Barcelona on that trip.  I still have it in my closet, it is so funky and cool and completely different than the style here in the states. That’s why I fell in love with the blazer.

If you know the Custo Barcelona style it is funky, cool, trendy and over the top. Whenever I wore the blazer I purchased from Custo Barcelona, I got so many compliments and was definitely seen as a trend setter wearing their clothing. In general, the fashion in Europe is honestly amazing, they usually like to take risks and be fashion leaders.

Back to the the fashion show – the show had a lot of energy, great music (think trendy techno Europe beach music) and was very energetic. If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw some behind the scenes on Insta Story of the show and it did not disappoint. The designs were amazing, and it made me want to book a flight back to Europe for next summer because some of these dresses screamed Ibiza, Mykonos and St. Tropez.

After the show my friend Lisa and I got a glass of rosé at the bar of Pier 59 at Chelsea Piers. There were some amazing views of New York City and we couldn’t resist taking a few pictures. New York Fashion Week is one of my favorite times in the city and it did not disappoint. I loved attending these past New York Fashion week events (here and here) and it is always amazing, energetic and of course, the fashion is always beautiful.

Below are some of my favorite pieces from the Custo Barcelona fashion show.

Gingham Trend: How to Style

gingham_fashion_1 gingham_fashion_3 gingham_fashion_4

Gingham is a popular fashion trend right now. When I walked into H&M a few weeks ago I saw quite a few gingham printed outfits so the trend is here to stay for Fall. I fell in love with this gingham top because it is perfect for everyday casual wear and is under $30.

I paired this top with my favorite new H&M jeans that have been fitting like a dream. Since this is more of a casual top, I paired it with one of my favorite sneakers and it is perfect for weekend wear running errands, grabbing lunch with your girlfriends or a perfect back to school outfit. Easy to style tops are perfect if you are busy and in a hurry.

If you wanted to style this top for night I can see it with some black jeans and black leather heels. You can easily transform this top to more trendy evening wear and it is quick and easy.

Have you purchased any gingham items this season? What are your thoughts on the trend? Leave a comment below.

The US Open 2017 starts today and is one of the biggest tennis tournaments of the year. I am so excited. I grew up in Flushing Queens so we have always been really excited for this tennis tournament every year and usually attend the pre matches.

The US Open is held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Park, New York and will be held starting today, August 28, through September 10. The US Open is known for bringing together the world’s best tennis players along with great food, kids’ activities and musical performances. People all over the world travel to attend the US Open. Having attended the pre-matches in the past, it is always a packed and fun event.

Below are some US Open tips of you are attending this year:

1. Arrive early and pack light

If you are attending the US Open, morning matches usually start around 11:00 a.m. but gates open at 10:00 a.m. Remember to pack lightly so you can get through security quickly and easily.

US Open tip: the east and south gates are usually the quickest to go through.

2. Tour the Stadiums
Once you are in the US Open find your seat in Arthur Ashe Stadium. It is the largest tennis stadium among the Grand Slam events, and one of the grandest in the world.

At night you can head to the top decks of Arthur Ashe Stadium and look out over the grounds. You can see the fountains and the Unisphere from the World’s Fair creating the perfect instagram backdrop and picture perfect for that selfie.

3. Don’t miss the food and drinks
The US Open is also known for its fantastic food and drinks. Once you are ready for lunch you can go to the Food Village for a quick bite to eat. That is where we ate and the fish tacos are amazing. You can also try several options for a sit-down meal such Aces, Champions Bar & Grill, Mojito, Patio Cafe or the US Open Club.

If its drinks you are looking for there are some several options such as the Heineken Red Star Café, with seating upstairs. For a quick refresher, try Baseline Cocktails, Wine Bar Food and the Grey Goose Bar.

4. Don’t forget to visit the practice courts
The practice courts is usually where you can see your favorite players practicing for their upcoming match. You are pretty close to the players so it is a great opportunity to see your favorite player up close and get some insta worthy pictures.

Who What Wear Collection: Target

whatwhatwear whowhatwearfallcollectiontarget whowhatwearfallcollectiontarget

Today I am sharing one of my favorite blouses from the Who What Wear Fall collection at Target. I was looking for a great statement blouse to add to my wardrobe and this blouse caught me eye the instant I walked into Target. I love chic pieces at affordable prices (who doesn’t?). One of my favorite looks this summer was the white and blue striped shirt trend, and I love how this blouse continues that trend but transitions perfectly into fall. The ruffles are prefect, sometimes you can find items that have too much ruffle but this one was perfect. I am seeing a lot of ruffles for Fall, so this piece would be perfect to add to your wardrobe.

I paired the blouse with denim and some black heels I purchased from DSW warehouse last year. This is a perfect casual Friday look at the office, drinks with girlfriends or date night look. I also did this shoot in Time Square and it was so much fun to be with such a great crowd. I usually do my shoots in simple places (basic walls, alleys, etc…) and I loved wearing this outfit in such a lively place because this top is so chic!

What do you think of the Who What Wear Fall Collection? Are you planning on wearing ruffles this Fall?
