Ingredients: Coconut oil and Honey

Today I am sharing one of my favorite beauty secrets. This is my favorite at home hair mask and it is so easy, and the ingredients are right in your pantry.

Once a week I do a coconut oil and honey hair mask all over my hair. It leaves my hair so shiny and soft. I can’t stop running my fingers through my hair on how soft it is once I wash it out, it really makes a difference. I skipped doing this hair mask for one month and once I started again I knew I had to get back into doing this once a week, my hair is really amazing after I do this mask.

The coconut oil really adds health & softness to my hair and the shine comes from the honey.

Below are the steps to doing this at home hair mask.

1. Mix 2 tbsp coconut oil with 1 tbsp honey. Optional – heat ingredients in sauce pan for 5 minutes. I have done this heated and unheated, it is easier to place the coconut oil on your hair plus heat always places the benefits onto the hair quicker.

2. After the mixture is heated, pour into a bowl and get ready to place into hair. I split the hair into sections. Then I add the coconut oil to small sections working my way from the back to the front, I start placing the mixture an inch from the scalp all the way to the ends. I add more mixture to the ends to keep it healthy and prevent breakage and damage.

3.  I wait 15 – 30 minutes. Read a magazine, have some tea or coffee, work on a blog post.

4. Wash out and style as normal. Repeat once a week.

Do  you guys have any hair masks you love? Any easy remedies to share? I would love to try!

Last week I uploaded my latest YouTube video, sharing my top 5 favorite beauty products. Hopefully you guys like the video, subscribe to my channel if you do and remember to give it a thumbs up. I am sharing my top 5 true beauty products I continuously use and have been using for awhile now. Hope you enjoy!

Happy Friday! Hope everyone has wonderful weekend plans. It is New York Fashion week here in NYC and I was fortunate enough to be able to attend an event last night hosted by Lord & Taylor, Allure Magazine, LeSportSac & Paola from Blank Itinerary. It was such a great, fun night.

I met Paola Alberdi, if you don’t know her, go to her website (blank itinerary), she has amazing style and such great tips and outfits to share. She is another fashion blogger and she is so nice and sweet. She gave me such great blogging advice and took the time to really discuss some tips and get to know more about me, literally one of the nicest persons ever. It is really great to meet other bloggers.

After speaking with Paola she let me know that the Clinique counter was doing free lipstick samples and then afterwards you can get your “lips read” by  lipsologist, Jilly Eddy.

One of my really good friends Monica joined me for the event, and we decided to try it out. First the girls at Clinique applied this awesome sweet pots sugar & lip balm, so amazing. I had no clue this product existed and it is great, my lips were so smooth. And plus, it actually tasted good (real sugar in it Ladies). I went for a nude look and the girl applied the classic creamy nude lipstick, “intense blush” liner & “cocoa pop” laquer (links above). The girls were really friendly applying our makeup and gave us some mascara and eyeliner tips as well. We even purchased some of the Clinique products.

Afterwards we got our Lips read by lipsologist, Jilly Eddy, and she said I had a diamond shape lip which meant I am successful, I give back, and I personally have a full lower lip which means I am very creative (good thing I am blogging then!).

The event also had some champagne and these adorable cake pops, they were decorated so beautifully, they were edible but we didn’t even want to eat them they looked gorgeous. We did try one, specifically red velvet flavor and it was so good. Once the event was over we headed home in 19 degree weather. We are getting extreme cold for the next few days, but hopefully after this weekend will have continuous warmer weather. Hope everyone has a great weekend!! Xoxo.

First fashion post of 2016! I know it sounds crazy, because this look is so simple, but I love this look. I feel like everything works – hair, clothes, hat, lipstick. And I am LOVING this hat, I have always wanted a JLO type hat and I took a risk and bought this hat. I love the burgundy color. It has been super cold winter these last few days, so I feel like we are done with fall here. Will be posting some winter looks soon. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day xoxo.
